LAX Season Preview

As the Centerville Elks girls' lacrosse team gears up for the 2025 season, several returning players have distinguished themselves in the 2024 Greater Western Ohio Conference. These athletes are poised to make significant impacts on the field lead by Program Director Katie Ziegert:
Returners:

Offensive Standouts:

• Ella Buckingham (Sophomore, Midfield): As a freshman, Buckingham showcased her scoring ability, netting 43 goals over 17 games, placing her 7th in the GWOC for goals scored. Her offensive prowess is expected to be a driving force for the Elks this season.
• Lucia Christofano (Sophomore, Attack): Christofano demonstrated versatility with 40 goals and 18 assists in 17 games, ranking 9th in goals and 4th in assists in the conference. Her ability to both score and facilitate will be crucial for the Elks' offensive strategies.
• Hannah Eggert (Junior, Midfield): Eggert contributed 27 goals and 5 assists over 17 games, ranking 16th in goals scored in the GWOC. Her consistency and offensive skills add depth to the midfield lineup.

Defensive Anchor:

• Kara Bentley (Junior, Goalkeeper): Bentley anchored the defense with 111 saves in 17 games, placing her 4th among GWOC goalkeepers. Her shot-stopping abilities provide a solid foundation for the Elks' defensive unit.
Claire Leaver (Senior, Defender): Leaver has been leading the Lady Elks defense for past 3 seasons. She is poised to lead the young defensive unit this season.

Emerging Talent:
• Emma Muha (Sophomore, Midfield): Muha showed promise with 12 ground balls and 7 draw controls over 13 games in her freshman year. Her stick development and speed is anticipated to strengthen the Elks' midfield strategies.

Ladies will open their season Friday, March 21st at 7pm here at Centerville!
