Elks Swimmers and Divers Dominate GWOC

The CHS swim and dive teams turned in a championship-caliber performance at the GWOC
meet, combining for podium finishes in 19 of 22 swimming events and an impressive 36 total
Top 8 finishes, while adding two conference diving titles to cap an outstanding showing.
The girls team surged behind a wave of 1 st Place finishes, led by Ruri Lee, who captured gold in
the 200 IM, 100 Fly, 200 Free Relay, and 400 Free Relay. Sophia Sperber added three victories
of her own, while Tanvi Bole, Cora Judy, and Abigail Henson played key roles in multiple relay
wins and individual podium appearances. Additional podium performances from Madison Smith
and Thalia Liu helped round out the team’s depth.

On the boys side, Caleb Purtee delivered a standout meet with individual wins in the 50 Free
and 100 Back and a 1 st Place finish as part of the 400 Free Relay. Emory Pianki also claimed
gold in the 100 Breast and contributed to relay success, while strong efforts from Brody Meyer,
Griffin Patton, Aden Brandon, Hayden Spraggins, Jeffrey Frank, Evan Towle, and Jonah Pianki
kept the team firmly in podium contention throughout the meet.

The diving teams added to the championship haul as well, with Peter Evans and Ashlyn Rickert
earning conference titles after posting winning scores of 192.75 and 165.60, respectively.
Colleen Lentz (5th), Laina Davis (6th), and Celeste Bronson (11th) also delivered strong finishes
to complete an impressive all-around performance for the program.

With swimmers and divers combining for top finishes across the lineup, the GWOC meet
showcased the depth, consistency, and competitive spirit of the team as the postseason
approaches.
