The SW High School District Swim Meet proved to be a strong showing for both the
girls’ and boys’ teams, with numerous state championship qualifications and standout
performances across the board.
On the girls’ side, the 200 Medley Relay team of Tanvi Bole, Sophia Sperber, Ruhani
Bole, and Abigail Henson placed 13th to earn a state berth. The 200 Freestyle Relay
team of Cora Judy, Thalia Liu, Abigail Henson, and Ruri Lee finished 19th, while the 400
Freestyle Relay team of Tanvi Bole, Cora Judy, Sophia Sperber, and Ruri Lee secured
14th place, with both relays also advancing to state.
Individually, Ruri Lee led the way in the 200 IM with a 9 th Place finish, followed by Cora
Judy in 23rd and Tanvi Bole in 30th. Tanvi Bole added a 20 th Place finish in the 100
Backstroke, and Ruri Lee earned 16 th Place in the 100 Butterfly to round out the girls’
state qualifiers.
The boys’ team also delivered several standout performances. The 200 Medley Relay
team of Caleb Purtee, Emory Pianki, Griffin Patton, and Brody Meyer finished 14th to
qualify for state. Caleb Purtee had a historic meet, placing 2nd in the 100 Freestyle and
3rd in the 100 Backstroke. His 100 Freestyle time of 44.92 seconds broke a 28-year-old
school record, marking a significant milestone for the program. The boys also saw a 22 nd
Place finish in the 100 Breaststroke by Emory Pianki.
Evan Wierwille dominated the para events, capturing 1st place in both the 50 Para
Freestyle and the 100 Para Backstroke, earning two district titles and qualifying for
state.
Overall, the district meet highlighted the depth, determination, and momentum of the
CHS swim program as both teams prepare to compete at the state championship level.
