On a sunny Saturday afternoon, the Lady Elks Varsity soccer team made the 3-hour plus trip up to Walsh Jesuit to take on the defending State finalist Warriors in an afternoon soccer match. Kissner Field was filled with the noise of drumbeats and cowbells as the Walsh fans cheered on their home team, but the Lady Elks came to play. Pushing the attack from the start, Centerville netted the first goal in less than 4 minutes as Taylor Koch scored unassisted off a corner kick. After several defensive saves off the goal line by the Walsh defense, the Elks scored again 10 minutes later off an own goal from a cross from Savannah Conner that deflected off a Walsh player and into the back of the net. At 11:13 left in the half, Audi Rhyner made it 3-0 off of a cross from Taylor Koch. Walsh found the back of the goal about a minute later with a long range shot that hit off the top bar to make the score 3-1 at halftime.

The second half scoring for the Elks started out even faster than the first half, as Taylor Koch broke through the Walsh defense moments after the whistle blew to score the fourth goal of the afternoon for the Lady Elks. Brooklyn Larrymore, Charlotte Kunst, Jess Wiedemann, Cami Staudt, Lauren Ralston, Molly Wiedemann and goalie Emma Gramke combined defensively to shut out the Warriors in the second half to ensure the victory. 4-1 over Walsh Jesuit. With this win, the team is now 4-0 on the season and hit a milestone for victories, as this was the 700th win for the Lady Elks varsity program.

The JVB girls team beat Turpin at home on Thursday 2-1.

This week, JVA and Varsity host Lakota East on Monday night at 5:30/7:15 pm at Alumni Stadium. On Wednesday, the Varsity is away at Springfield at 6:00 pm. On Thursday, JVB is away at Beavercreek at 7:00 pm.
