Since gaining the #1 state ranking the varsity girls soccer team has had a bulls eye on them and their opponents have really played hard and challenged the Lady Elks. Wednesday night was no different as Beavercreek came to Alumni Stadium and was able to tie a much more talented Lady Elk squad 1-1. The 3rd tie for the Lady Elks will no doubt will knock them out of that #1 ranking but more importantly hopefully it gets the team and coaches back focusing on what makes them so good...playing free, together, with great skill and effort and for each other.

The Lady Elks jumped out on top Wednesday with a goal by Savannah Conner in the 1st half and took that lead into halftime. Beavercreek was able to tie the game fairly early in the second half and from there Creek was the aggressor. The Lady Elks had a few chances in the second half but Creek controlled the game. The Lady Elks played the last few minutes with such a great sense of urgency and created great scoring chances in those few minutes but it is that kind of effort and determination that this team needs to learn to play with for 80 minutes and they will be able to beat anyone. I am confident that Coach Gobrail and his staff will regroup with this talented team and start the climb back up towards the top. Come together girls!

The Varsity is now 6-0-3 overall and 1-0-2 in the GWOC. The JVA team beat Beavercreek 3-0. The teams are back in action on Wednesday September 21st with JVA playing at 5:30 pm and Varsity at 7:15 pm. Tickets are only available online at
