On Wednesday night, the Varsity Lady Elks defeated the Fairmont Firebirds 4-1 at Alumni Stadium. The Elks came out aggressive. Less than 5 minutes into the game, Savannah Conner scored the first goal off a great pass by Gaby Aydelott. Later in the half, Conner would cross the ball to Audi Rhyner who would make it 2-0. The Elks would continue to dominate, and midway through the second half Conner crossed the ball to Taylor Koch who was perfectly positioned at the far post and tapped it in for goal number three. With eight minutes left in the game, Ava Pfarrer sent a beautiful cross to Koch who shot it in for her second goal of the game. The Firebirds would score a few minutes later to make the final 4-1. The Elks travel to Cincinnati to take on St. Ursula Academy on Saturday at 1:15 PM. Tickets are only available online at

The Centerville JVA Lady Elks won their game 4-0 against Fairmont on Wednesday. The Elks made repeated attempts on the goal during the first half, but they would not capitalize on opportunities until the final three minutes of the half. The Elks finally caught an opening when Khloe Isaacs connected with Skylar Falkner to split defenders, and Skylar drove the ball to the far post for the 1-0 lead. In the second half, Ella Boettcher would score goal 2 on an Elks' free kick about 20 yards from the goal. A few minutes later, Amelia Davis crossed the ball from the right flank to the far post, where defenders would block Ella Stevens' initial attempt to finish, and Samantha Touhey cleaned up for goal three. Anna Kate Robillard scored the fourth and final goal with an outside shot from Skylar Falkner's pass. The Elks JVA travels to play St. Ursula on Saturday, October 1st, at 11:30 am. The Lady Elks JVA team also won their game against Springboro Monday night 1-0 in a hotly contested match. Both teams battled to create scoring opportunities but solid defensive play by both teams kept the match in the middle third of the field most of the game. The first half ended scoreless, and the best opportunities of the match were all in the final ten minutes of the game. First, Springboro earned a corner and shot toward the far post where Bella Ferrazza guarded her post and cleared the ball off the line to keep the score at 0-0. With four minutes left in the match, Ella Stevens stepped up to take an Elks corner kick and Amelia Davis finished with a header at the near post.
