The varsity football team traveled to Beavercreek on Friday night looking to shake off their last second loss to Boro the week before. The Elks looked to knock off the improved Beavercreek. The Elks took their opening drive 63 yards to the 1 yard line of Creek but Emable Wakilongo fumbled the ball into the endzone as he was hit and Creek recovered. The game then became a game of penalty after penalty on both teams as neither team could get into any flow and the first quarter ended with the game tied at 0-0.

Ross Coppock picked off a Creek pass with 11:53 left in 2nd quarter and returned it for a TD to put the Elks up 7-0. On the next possession the Beavers snap the ball over the punter's head and the Elks took over at the Beaver 13 yard line. Gavin Monturo runs it in from 10 yards out to put the Elks up 14-0 with 8:34 left in the half. The Elks then blocked a 54 FG attempt by the Beavers to keep it 14-0. Then with 3:00 to go in the half Monturo threw an interception and the Beavers had the ball at the Elks 27 yard line. Beavers pick up a first down and then run a misdirection pass play the found the Elks napping and the Beavers were on the board with 1:45 left in the half but the PAT was blocked to keep the Elks up 14-6. The Elks drove the ball quickly down the field and Monturo hit Nic Bruder for a 15 yard TD pass to put the Elks up 21-6 at the half.

The 3rd quarter was once again controlled by many penalties and the Elks managed a 27 yard field goal by Jackson Courville to make it 24-6 Elks heading into the 4th quarter. With 8:04 left in the 4th quarter Braylon Newcomb shook free for a 10 yard TD run to put the Elks up 31-6. Then with :53 left in the game Newcomb caught a 5 yard TD pass from Monturo to make it 37-6 Elks. The Elks moved to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the GWOC. Freshmen and JV both beat Creek on Saturday. JV won 19-0 and Freshmen won 42-30.

The Elks will host Springfield in a huge GWOC game Friday night at 7:00 pm. Tickets are only available online at
