On Wednesday, the Varsity Lady Elks traveled to unbeaten Springboro for a GWOC showdown with the Lady Panthers. Both teams fought hard in a very physical match, but with 22:13 to go in the first half, Centerville scored on a set piece from a Taylor Koch corner kick when Brooklyn Larrymore headed the ball into the back of the net. In the second half, Centerville dominated possession and limited the Panther attacks. Crisp passing and good ball movement allowed the Elks to present dangerous attacks on several occasions, but great goal keeping by the Panthers kept the Elks scoreless in the second half. The loan goals was enough to earn the Elks the 1-0 victory. Emma Gramke and the defensive unit earned another clean sheet for Centerville and the Elks are now 10-0-4 and 4-0-2 in the GWOC. Springboro and Miamisburg play next week and if either team wins that match they win the GWOC outright no matter what the Elks do vs. Wayne next week. If Boro and Burg tie then the Elks will share the title with Miamisburg.

The Lady Elks JVA also beat Springboro 1-0 in their game on Wednesday. The Elks scored the only goal of the match in the first few minutes as Jilly Wisecup beat the goalkeeper off a pass from midfielder Skylar Falkner.

On Tuesday, the JVB Lady Elks traveled to Turpin. Turpin came out of the gate fast and ready to play. The Spartans put one in the back of the net within minutes of the whistle. The Lady Elks had multiple shots on goal but couldn't get one in. They went into halftime down 0-2. During the second half, the Lady Elks held the Turpin Spartans to one goal. Kendall Samborski got the Elks on the board with a direct kick with minutes left in the game. The JVB ladies walked away with a 1-3 loss to the Turpin Spartans.

All 3 Lady Elks teams are back in action Saturday when they take on Seton at Alumni Stadium. The JVB Girls take the pitch at 3:30 pm, followed by JVA at 5:30 pm and Varsity at 7:15 pm. Tickets are only available online at
