The varsity girls soccer team played what could have been their absolute best all-around game Saturday night at Alumni Stadium as the Lady Elks beat the defending State Champions Mount Notre Dame 1-0 to end their regular season at 13-1-3.

Heleena Cornwell was incredible in goal all night and the entire rest of the team was locked in both physically and mentally all night. The Lady Elks played team first soccer all night and used their incredible skill to control the ball most of the night. The Elks had quite a few other scoring opportunities just miss throughout the night as the two talented teams battled the entire game.

Leona Ciarlariello was able to put the ball into the back of the net with 30 minutes to play in the game to give the girls their 1-0 lead and from there Heleena and the defense secured the win. It was just awesome watching our girls play so focused and hard. This team can beat anyone playing this hard and focused!

The JVA team lost to MND 1-2 to finish 10-4-2 on the season.

The Lady Elks begin tourney play next week!
