The varsity girls basketball team hosted Chaminade Julienne in game #3 of the Elk Elite Showcase. Springfield Shawnee beat Botkins 56-52 in game #1 and St. Xavier beat Springfield 63-34 in game #2 both in boys varsity basketball.

In game #3 the Lady Elks came out on fire and jumped to an 8-0 lead to start the game. Chaminade fought back and led 11-10 at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Elks took control of the game in the second quarter as the Lady Elks outscored Chaminade 14-6 to lead 24-17 at the half and then put the game away in the third quarter outscoring the Eagles 20-5 to lead 44-22 heading into the fourth quarter.

The Lady Elks played very hard as usual and their defense was suffocating at times. Their depth continues to be a strength as the Elks just wore down the Eagles. The final score was Centerville 55 Chaminade 38 as the Lady Elks moved to 5-2 overall.

Anna Grim led the Lady Elks with 15 points, Emily Grim had 12 points, Caroline McDowell had 11 points and Kendal George had 10 points for our Lady Elks.

The Lady Elks are back in action at home this Wednesday vs. Fairmont with the 9th playing at 5 pm, JV at 6:15 pm and Varsity at 7:30 pm. Tickets are only available online at
