The first quarter went back and fourth as the Elks led 15-13 after one quarter of play. The Elks then jumped out 9 point lead in the second quarter but Cleveland Heights his a 3 point shot at the buzzer and the Elks led 35-29 at the half. In the third quarter the Elks settled in defensively and really made thing difficult for Cleveland Heights and pulled out to a 51-40 lead heading into the fourth quarter. The Elks got hot offensively and continued to play great defense and outscored the Tigers 27-14 in the fourth quarter to pull away for the 78-54 win. The win brings the Elks to 3-1 overall.
Jonathan Powell led the Elks with 28 points, Dulguun Gankhuyag had 13 points and Collin O'Connor had 10 points to lead the Elks in scoring.
The Elks are back in action on Tuesday at home vs. Northmont on Tuesday with the 9th team playing at 5 pm, JV at 6:15 pm and Varsity at 7:30 pm. Tickets are only available online at
