The varsity boys basketball team scheduled a non-conference game at New Albany, Indiana over the holidays to give the team a chance to travel away from warm and cheerfull and to also give Indiana Hoosier fans a chance to see the future of their program as Gabe Cupps led the Elks into New Albany and certainly did not disappoint.

The Elks were in charge of this game right from the get go and Gabe excelled in all areas as he has done here for 4 years and the Hoosier fans have to be excited. New Albany came into the game at 7-2 overall but the Elks made sure they had no chance in this game jumping out to a 16-9 at the end of the 1st quarter and then extended that lead to 37-11 at the half.

The Elks continued to play well in the second half as a team and went on to win their 7th in a row 63-35. The Varsity is now 7-1 overall and 4-0 in the GWOC. Jonathan Powell had 15 points and Gabe Cupps added 12 points to lead the Elks.

The JV team beat New Albany 86-51 and the 9th Gold team lost to New Albany 19-41. The teams are back in action at home on Tuesday January 3rd vs. Springboro with the 9th Black team playing at 5 pm, JV at 6:15 pm and Varsity at 7:30 pm. The Middle Schools 7th and 8th boys Black vs. Gold games are being played right before these games with 7th at 1:30 pm and 8th at 3:00 pm so you can have a full day of seeing all levels of boys basketball if you like!
