The boys basketball team hosted the Springfield Wildcats on Tuesday night here at CHS and the Elks took care of business. The Varsity team beat the Wildcats 87-43 to win their 10th in a row and run their record to 10-1 overall and 7-0 in the GWOC. Junior Jonathan Powell led the Elks with 26 points, senior Kyle Kenney added 18 points on 6 for 6 shooting from 3-point range. Senior Collin O'Connor chipped in 12 points and senior Gabe Cupps had 11 points for the Elks.
The JV team beat Springfield 83-49 and 9th Black beat Springfield 51-34.
The Elks welcome perennial state power Akron Saint Vincent Saint Mary's to town Friday night. The JV team will play at 6 pm followed by the Varsity at 7:30 pm. This game will be heavily attended so please buy your tickets early and redeem your passes ahead of time. Tickets are only available online at
