The varsity girls basketball team traveled to Fairmont on Wednesday night and ran into a buzz saw as the Firebirds caused all kinds of turnovers from the Lady Elks and poor shooting by the Lady Elks to beat the Elks 60-42.
The Lady Elks were led in scoring by Kendal George with 17 points and Anna Grim with 10 points. The loss drops the Lady Elks to 13-6 overall and 8-4 in the GWOC.
The JV team lost to Fairmont 36-38 and the 9th team beat Fairmont 32-28.
The Lady Elks are back in action on Saturday January 28th at home vs. Dublin Coffman with 9th playing at 3:30 pm, JV at 4:45 pm and Varsity at 6 pm. Tickets are only available online at
