The varsity boys traveled to Northmont Friday night on a night that Northmont Athletic Director Micah Harding put together an incredible night. The Thunderbolts had a ceremony prior to the varsity game where the military swore in a young man that was joining the military as it was Military Appreciation Night in the Thunderdome. The Elks jumped right out on top with an 11-2 lead after the 1st quarter and a 33-12 lead at the half.

The Pop Rocks performed at halftime in front of a large appreciative crowd. The Elks then put on their own performance in the second half jumping out to a 59-31 lead at the end 3rd quarter and eventually a running clock on their way to an 81-44 win. The Ells were led by Johnathan Powell with 25 points, Gabe Cupps with 14 points and Ethan Greenburg with 10 points.

The win puts the Elks at 15-2 overall and 11-0 in the GWOC. The JV team beat Northmont 50-23 and 9th Gold beat Northmont 55-51.

The Elks will play at Moeller Saturday with 9th Black playing at 12:30 pm, 9th Gold at 2 pm, JV at 3:30 pm and Varsity at 5 pm. The link for the tickets if available is:Click Here
