In the 3rd quarter the Elks pushed out to a 31-20 lead in the 3rd quarter and led 36-22 at the end of the 3rd quarter. The Elks went on to win 40-35. The win was not as close as the score, Moeller held the basketball for long possessions in the 4th quarter and chose to not put the Elks in the bonus. Moeller scored some buckets late to make it a 5 point game.
The Elks were led by Johnathan Powell with 17 points and Gabe Cupps with 12 points. The JV team lost their first game of the year to Moeller 52-55. 9th Gold lost 31-65 and 9th Black lost 48-58.
The varsity team is now 16-2 overall and 11-0 in the GWOC. The Elks are back in action at home for the last home game of the season on Friday February 3rd vs, Fairmont. This will be Senior Night and a great night for all Elk fans to come out and say thank you to these seniors who have helped bring this program to a level that is absolutely incredible.
