On a night where emotions were running high as our senior Coeds, Cheerleaders, Boys Basketball Managers and our Boys Basketball Players were playing their last ever game in front of a huge crowd at Centerville High School the Elks struggled all night to get on track and a pesky and scrappy Fairmont squad kept the game relatively close all night with the Elks pulling off a 57-42 win.

The Elks led 12-5 after the 1st quarter and 25-13 at the half with senior Gabe Cupps not scoring in the 1st half but doing plenty of other things defensively and handling the ball to keep the Elks in front.

In the 3rd quarter the Firebirds outscored the Elks 13-8 to cut the lead to 33-26 heading into the 4th quarter. That is when senior Gabe Cupps took over the game and provided the overall leadership as he has done for 4 years and led his Elks to a 57-42 win, scoring 12 of his 14 points in the 4th quarter going 8 for 8 at the free throw lane.

Leading the Elks on Friday were Jonathan Powell with 15, Gabe Cupps with 14 and Emmanuel with 12. The Varsity is now 17-2 overall and 12-0 in the GWOC. The JV team beat Fairmont 63-42 and the 9th Black team beat Fairmont 47-44.

The Elks are back in action on Tuesday February 7th at Springboro with 9th Gold playing at 5 pm, JV at 6:15 pm and Varsity at 7:30 pm. Tickets are only available online at
