The Girls Varsity Bowling team at Poelking Woodman on Wednesday had one goal in mind: finish high enough at the OHSAA Sectional Tournament to advance to the District Tournament the following week. And the team did just that, finishing in 2nd place to easily secure their spot in the next round.

The girls put on an impressive performance, led by junior Faith Dunn who shot a remarkable 666 to lead the tournament. Senior Emma Hatfield also had a great showing, finishing in 4th place with a 600 series. These outstanding individual performances helped the team secure their spot in the upcoming District Tournament.

The OHSAA Sectional Tournament is an important event for high school bowling teams, as it serves as the first step in a long road towards a state championship. The top 9 teams from the Sectional Tournament move on to the District Tournament, and the top 5 teams from there will advance to the State Tournament.

The District Tournament will take place at Beaver-Vu next Friday, beginning at 9 AM. It will be another opportunity for the team to showcase their skills and compete against other top teams in the state. However, with the team's recent success at the Sectional Tournament, they are poised to make a strong showing at the District Tournament.

It's important to note that tickets for the District Tournament will only be available online at www.ohsaa.org/tickets. So fans of the Girls Varsity Bowling team will need to plan accordingly in order to support their team at the event.
