The Boys Varsity Basketball team continues to dominate their opponents in the OHSAA Sectional Tournament. The Elks won their second-round game against Belmont on Wednesday night 79-44 at Butler High School. The victory secured their spot in the District Semi-Finals and improved their overall record to 21-3.

The game against Belmont was a lopsided affair, with the Elks dominating from start to finish. They took control early, leading 53-25 at halftime, and had a running clock by the end of the third quarter with a 71-36 lead. The Elks cruised to a 79-44 win, with several players stepping up to contribute to the team's impressive performance.

Senior Gabe Cupps led the way for the Elks with 20 points, while junior Jonathan Powell added 15 points and senior Collin O'Connor contributed 14 points. The team's strong offensive performance was complemented by a solid defensive effort that limited Belmont's scoring opportunities.

The Elks will face Sidney in the Southwest District Semi-Final game on Friday, February 24th at 7:30 pm at Butler High School. It will be another opportunity for the team to showcase their skills and compete against other top teams in the region. And with the team's recent success in the tournament, they are well-positioned to make a deep run towards a championship.

It's important to note that tickets for the District Semi-Final game will only be available online at www.ohsaa.org/tickets. Fans of the Boys Varsity Basketball team will need to plan accordingly in order to support their team at the event.
