The Game Day Cheer Team and the Competition Cheer Team both finished in 5th place as their seasons came to an end at the OASSA State Competition at Big Walnut High School in Columbus. While not quite the finish they had hoped for, both teams should be proud of the hard work, dedication, and teamwork that brought them to this point.

The Game Day Cheer Team's performance at the state competition included a cheer routine, a dance routine, and a sideline routine, all of which were evaluated on their ability to engage the crowd, show enthusiasm and spirit, and demonstrate sharp, precise movements and techniques.

The Competition Cheer Team, on the other hand, is a highly competitive group that trains year-round for cheerleading competitions. They focus on a more technical and intricate performance, with routines that require precise timing, intricate stunts and tumbling, and synchronization between all team members. Their performance at the state competition was judged on a combination of difficulty, execution, technique, and overall entertainment value.

While both teams ultimately finished in 5th place, the competition was fierce, with some of the best teams from across the state competing for the top spot. The fact that both teams were able to make it to the state competition and hold their own against such strong competition is a testament to their hard work and dedication.

Coaches, parents, and teammates should all be proud of the Game Day and Competition Cheer Teams for their accomplishments this season. Cheerleading requires a great deal of teamwork, dedication, and physical ability, and these athletes have all demonstrated these qualities in abundance.

But cheerleading is more than just a sport – it’s also about school spirit, community involvement, and supporting your fellow students. The Game Day and Competition Cheer Teams have done an excellent job of representing their schools and communities throughout the season, and they should be commended for their efforts.
