48th Annual Elk Relays A Huge Success

The 48th Annual Elk Relays took place on Friday night under the bright lights of Centerville Stadium, and it was a great night for both the girls and boys varsity track teams. With 16 teams participating in each category, the competition was fierce, but the Elks showed up and delivered an impressive performance. The girls' team finished runner-up, and the boys' team finished third, leaving a lasting impression on the massive crowd that had gathered to cheer them on.

The highlight of the night was Cameron Gay, who put on a dominating display in the boys' shot put, finishing first with a throw of 54'4.75". He also finished first in the boys' discus with a personal record of 162'2" and second in the boys' discus with another PR of 171'3". Sopuluchi Anosike also had an excellent showing, finishing first in the boys' high jump with a personal record of 6'8".

The girls' team also had their share of standout performers. The girls' 800m sprint medley relay team of Lauren Jessep Aiken, Sofija Keller, Samaria Williams, and Sariah Turner finished first, leaving no doubts about their abilities. Victoria Koul finished first in the girls' hammer throw with a personal record of 137'0".

Ethan Ireland also had a fantastic night, winning the boys' pole vault with a personal record of 14'3". The Elks put on a show that the crowd will not soon forget, and it was evident that they had worked hard in preparation for the event.

The night was filled with excitement and enthusiasm, as the Elks went head-to-head against some of the top track teams in the state. The runners, throwers, and jumpers all put on their best performances, leaving no stone unturned in their quest for glory. The Elk Relays are always a highly anticipated event, and this year was no different. The athletes showcased their talents, and the crowd was left in awe.
