The Centerville Varsity Baseball team traveled to Fairmont on Monday night and secured an impressive 7-1 win over the Firebirds, tying them for the GWOC lead. Led by senior Brady Zimbric (5IP) and junior Drake Wells (2IP), who combined for a one-hitter, the Elks dominated on the mound.

The offense was also impressive, with senior Max Doepker, senior Kyle Kenney, sophomore Gavin Kent, and sophomore Luke Franklin each contributing two hits to the game. With the win, the varsity team's record improves to 8-6 overall and 7-2 in the GWOC, now tied for first place with Fairmont.

The JVA team also secured a win against Fairmont, with a score of 12-4, and the JVB team won 5-0. The teams will be back in action on Wednesday, with the Varsity hosting Fairmont at Wright State at 7:30 pm, while the JVA team travels to Fairmont High School and the JVB team travels to Indian Riffle Park, both for 5 pm games.
