The Varsity Softball team had an impressive showing against the Fairmont Firebirds, beating them in a thrilling game that ended in a dramatic 4-3 win. Junior Hayley Arnold led the team with 14 strikeouts and two hits, while sophomore Olivia Castle and freshman Riley Bakan hit back-to-back doubles in the 6th inning, tying up the game at 3-3. Junior Ardyn Hopf then hit a triple and stole home on a passed ball in the 7th inning, securing the win for the Elks.

The Varsity team's overall record improves to 8-6, with a 6-3 standing in the GWOC, ranking them 3rd place. The JV team also secured a win against Fairmont with a score of 8-4.

The Varsity team will be back in action tonight, hosting Lakota East at 5 pm, while the JV team will travel to Lakota East for a 5 pm game. Fans can look forward to another exciting game as the Elks continue to dominate on the field.
