The Centerville Varsity Softball team suffered a tough loss at home on Saturday, as they fell to Lebanon by a score of 4-0. This marks the second time this season that the Lady Elks have been defeated by Lebanon, with their earlier loss coming by a score of 6-2.
The Lady Elks took another swing at the perennial power, but unfortunately, they came up short once again. Despite putting up a valiant effort, they were unable to overcome Lebanon's strong defense and pitching.
The loss leaves the Lady Elks with an 11-8 overall record on the season and an 8-3 record in the Greater Western Ohio Conference (GWOC). While this loss is undoubtedly a setback for the team, they have shown throughout the season that they have the talent and determination to bounce back and compete at a high level.
The varsity team will be back in action at home on Monday, as they take on Springboro at 5 pm. The Lady Elks will undoubtedly be looking to turn things around and get back on the winning track. Meanwhile, the JV team will travel to Springboro for a 5 pm game.
