The Varsity Softball team delivered a great performance on Monday, securing a hard-fought 4-2 win over Kings on the road. The Lady Elks played with intensity and determination, showcasing their talent and teamwork throughout the game. Led by a strong pitching performance by junior Hayley Arnold, the team emerged victorious with an impressive overall record of 14-9.

The game was a tight contest from start to finish, with both teams delivering solid performances. However, the Lady Elks were able to capitalize on their opportunities and put together a string of impressive plays to secure the win. Freshmen Riley Bakan, Chayse Adkins, and Peyton Kennard scored all 4 runs for the team, showcasing their talent and potential for the future.

One standout player of the game was junior Ardyn Hopf, who went 2 for 4 with 2 stolen bases. Her speed and agility on the base paths made her a constant threat to the Kings defense, and her ability to get on base and create scoring opportunities proved to be a crucial factor in the Lady Elks' victory.

Junior pitcher Hayley Arnold put together a dominant performance from the mound. She struck out an impressive 12 batters, demonstrating her strength and precision on the mound. Her exceptional performance was a testament to her hard work and dedication, and it played a key role in securing the win for the Lady Elks.

With this win under their belts, the Centerville Varsity Softball team is now gearing up for their next challenge in the OHSAA Sectional Tournament. They will host the Fairmont Firebirds on Wednesday at 5 pm. Tickets will only be available online at www.ohsaa.org/tickets.

The JV team lost to Kings 17-1.
