The Centerville Varsity Baseball team faced a tough test in recent games, playing against two of Cincinnati's top teams, St. Xavier and Moeller. Unfortunately, the Elks were unable to come away with a win in either game, falling to St. Xavier 4-1 on Saturday and Moeller 5-1 on Monday. Despite the losses, there were some standout performances from players on the team.

Against St. Xavier, junior pitcher Drake Wells delivered a solid performance on the mound, throwing 5 innings and allowing no earned runs. However, the team struggled defensively, committing 7 errors that ultimately proved costly. Senior John Woodard led the offense with 2 hits, but the Elks were unable to generate enough runs to secure a win.

The following day, the JVA team delivered a dominant performance, beating Chaminade 9-3, while the JVB team secured a hard-fought 8-7 win over Fairmont in 10 innings.

The Elks faced a tough challenge on Monday, traveling to Moeller to take on one of the top teams in the state. Junior pitcher Miles Whitesell and sophomore Gavin Kent delivered solid performances on the mound, but the Elks were once again unable to generate enough offense to secure a win. Senior Luke Sutter led the way with a double, but it wasn't enough to overcome Moeller's strong defense and pitching.

Despite the losses, the Centerville Varsity Baseball team remains focused and determined heading into their next game against Fairfield at Joe Nuxhall field today at 5 pm. The JVA team will host Fairfield at 5 pm at Booster Park, while the JVB team will host Fairfield at Schoolhouse Park at 5 pm today. With talented players across all levels of the program, the Elks are poised to bounce back and deliver strong performances in the upcoming games.
