The Centerville Varsity Softball team secured another victory against Fairmont in the OHSAA Sectional Tournament on Wednesday night with a 7-3 home win, marking the third time this season the Lady Elks have defeated their rivals. The game was a true battle, with Centerville trailing 3-1 heading into the bottom of the fifth inning. However, the Lady Elks refused to give up and staged an impressive comeback to secure the win.

Junior Ardyn Hopf was on fire for the Lady Elks, going 3 for 4 with a home run. Senior Brooke Strobel also made a strong contribution, going 1 for 3 with a home run, while freshman Riley Bakan was 2 for 3 with 1 RBI. Junior Ashley Arnold pitched an outstanding game from the mound, recording 10 strikeouts and securing the win for the Lady Elks. The Varsity is now 15-9 overall.

The victory was a testament to the team's hard work and determination, and a great example of their ability to come together and fight for a win. The Lady Elks have had a successful season so far, and the win against Fairmont marks another important milestone in their journey.

The team will now shift their focus to their next game, playing at Waynesville on Friday at 5 pm as they prepare for their next tournament game. With the team firing on all cylinders and full of confidence, they will be looking to continue their winning streak and make a strong run in the tournament.
