The Varsity Softball team traveled to Waynesville on Friday night for a game that proved to be a great opportunity for the team to stay sharp ahead of their upcoming tournament game. The Lady Elks put on a dominant performance, beating Waynesville 9-1, and showing why they are a force to be reckoned with on the field.

Senior Ashley Arnold was instrumental in the team's victory, pitching an outstanding game on the mound, racking up 16 strikeouts and allowing only one run. But Arnold's impressive performance didn't end there. She also had a phenomenal game at the plate, going 3 for 4 with one home run and five RBIs, further cementing her status as one of the team's top performers.

The Lady Elks didn't stop there, however, with several other players contributing to the team's offensive output. Junior Ardyn Hopf had a perfect game at the plate, going 4 for 4 and contributing an RBI, while freshman Riley Bakan had a strong showing, going 2 for 3 with one RBI. Junior Ally Middleton also hit a homerun, adding to the team's impressive offensive display.

With the win, the Lady Elks improved their overall record to 16-9, and they will now turn their attention to their next game, which will be against Northmont on Monday. Before that, however, the team will travel to Greenville on Saturday for one more game to help prepare for their big showdown against Northmont.
