The varsity baseball team suffered a loss on Thursday night, falling 4-3 to Monroe in a closely contested match on their home turf. The defeat came as a blow to the Elks, who had high hopes for a victory to advance in the tourney.

Junior pitcher Drake Wells took the mound for Centerville, delivering an impressive performance by pitching 3 and 2/3 innings. Wells showcased his skills and demonstrated great control throughout the game, but Monroe managed to capitalize on a few crucial moments, ultimately seizing the win.

The Centerville offense was led by senior Ryder Bliss, who showcased his hitting prowess with a double. Bliss's contribution to the team's offensive efforts was commendable, but unfortunately, it wasn't enough to secure the victory. Despite their valiant efforts, the Elks couldn't surpass Monroe's solid defense and strategic gameplay.

With this defeat, the Centerville varsity baseball team wraps up their season with a 15-12 record. Although falling short in their final game, the Elks can reflect on their overall performance and accomplishments throughout the year. Despite the disappointment of the loss, the team can take pride in their achievements and the growth they have experienced as athletes.
