In a thrilling showdown on Tuesday night, the varsity boys' lacrosse team traveled to Upper Arlington to face off against the formidable Golden Bears, who held the prestigious title of the state's number one ranked team. The game was the highly anticipated Regional Semi-Final, promising an intense battle between two talented teams vying for victory.

Right from the start, it was evident that the Elks were determined to give their opponents a run for their money. Despite Upper Arlington's early lead, the Elks showcased their resilience and offensive prowess in the first quarter. Eli Harless emerged as a standout player, netting two impressive goals, while JP Mercer added another goal to the Elks' tally. The quarter ended with Upper Arlington leading 6-3, but the Elks had proven their mettle and remained firmly in the game.

As the second quarter got underway, the Elks continued their relentless pursuit of victory. A well-executed assist from Mercer to Harless resulted in the latter completing a hat trick, further narrowing the score gap. However, the Golden Bears showcased their strength and skill, maintaining control of the game. The half-time score stood at 8-4 in favor of Upper Arlington, but the Elks had shown their opponents that they were not to be taken lightly.

Coming into the third quarter, the Elks displayed their fighting spirit once again. Mercer's assist, this time to Ryan Swanson, resulted in a goal, bringing the score to 8-5. It seemed that the Elks might stage a comeback and upset the state's top-ranked team. However, Upper Arlington swiftly regained control of the game, displaying why they held their prestigious ranking. Their formidable offense proved to be too much for the Elks to handle, and the Golden Bears extended their lead.

Despite their valiant efforts, the Elks eventually succumbed to the dominance of Upper Arlington. The final score stood at 15-6 in favor of the Golden Bears, but the Elks could hold their heads high. They had battled fiercely, demonstrating commendable teamwork and determination until midway through the third quarter.

With an overall record of 11-9, the Elks showcased their talent and determination to compete at the highest level.
