The Varsity Boys & Girls Track & Field Teams recently showcased their remarkable talent and determination at the Regional Track Meet held this past Wednesday and Friday. A total of 40 Elk athletes competed in the meet, with a staggering majority of them being first-time participants at this level. Their exceptional performance is a testament to their belief in themselves and the relentless efforts put forth by their coaches throughout the season.

With just seven athletes having prior experience at the Regional Meet, the Centerville teams faced a challenging task. However, they rose to the occasion and delivered outstanding results. The Boys team, in particular, made history by claiming the Regional Championship for the fourth time in the school's history all since 2011. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the athletes and their coaches.

On the other hand, the Girls team also demonstrated their talent and determination by finishing 7th overall. The collective effort and outstanding performance by all the athletes were truly commendable. Their relentless pursuit of excellence and competitive spirit have led them to earn well-deserved recognition.

As the Centerville Track & Field Teams prepare for the OHSAA State Championship, they have already set their sights on the next goal. A select group of athletes will be representing the Elks at the State meet, competing against the finest athletes from across the state of Ohio. The Girls 4 x 200 Meter Relay Team, Ann Lehman in the pole vault, Amelia Nott in the high jump. The boys 4 x 800 Meter Relay Team, Daniel Emmert in the 1600 Meter Run, Sopuluchi Anosike in the high jump and 110 Meter Hurdles, and Cameron Gay in the shot put and discus have all advanced to the prestigious State meet.
