The Centerville Elk Boys Cross Country team showcased their exceptional endurance and dedication as they tackled two different events in a split squad format today. With half of the team competing at the West Milton Invite and the other half at the Northmont Invite, the Elks proved their mettle by securing impressive third-place finishes in both competitions.

At the West Milton Invite, the junior and senior runners of the Centerville Elk Boys Cross Country team showcased their prowess as they maneuvered through the challenging course. Juniors Daniel Emmert, Mitchell Job, and Jagger Noel set a blistering pace, finishing with impressive times of 17:16 and 17:26. The seniors, Chase Chapman and Hamilton Roebken, contributed significantly with times of 18:06 and 18:14, respectively. Their combined efforts culminated in a notable third-place finish out of a competitive field of 19 teams.

Simultaneously, the other half of the Elk Boys Cross Country team tackled the Northmont Invite with unwavering determination. Luke Melzer, Eric Bucher, and Owen Zeiser led the charge, crossing the finish line with impressive times ranging from 17:59 to 18:02. Following closely were Henry Martin, Loris Manaresi, and Braden Harness, who recorded times ranging from 18:30 to 18:39. Their remarkable performances contributed to the team's third-place finish among 17 competing teams.

As the Centerville Elk Boys Cross Country team reflects on their dual competitions, they set their sights on their next challenge. The team is slated to return to action on September 2 at Hilliard Davidson, where they will face off against some of the top teams in the state. With their recent successes serving as a strong foundation, the Elks are poised to continue their journey with determination and a commitment to excellence.
