On a historic Saturday at Alumni Stadium, the Centerville Boys Varsity Soccer program celebrated its illustrious 50-year journey in style as they hosted the formidable Louisville Saint Xavier Tigers. The Tigers arrived in town with an impressive track record and a roster that mirrored their reputation for talent and depth. It was a clash that promised a high-level spectacle, and it certainly lived up to expectations.

Louisville Saint Xavier, as advertised, was a well-coached, skilled, and deep team. However, the Elks had a special treat for the fans in attendance – many of the players and coaches who had played pivotal roles in building the winningest soccer program in the State of Ohio were present for the celebration. The atmosphere was electric, and the team was determined to honor their legacy with a memorable performance.

In a game that felt more like a Regional or State-level contest, the Elks emerged triumphant with a narrow 1-0 victory. The lone goal of the match came in the first half, as Landon Miller delivered a spectacular strike midway through the opening period. This electrifying moment set the tone for the rest of the match.

The Elks' defense led by Luke Shrivers. kept the talented Tigers at bay, frustrating their every attempt to level the score. The entire team displayed an extraordinary level of energy and focus throughout the match, exemplifying the values and work ethic that have been instilled in the Centerville Boys Varsity Soccer program for half a century.

With this hard-fought victory, the Varsity team improved their season record to an impressive 7-0-2 and winners of 6 straight games.

While the Varsity team celebrated a significant milestone, it was a day of mixed results for the other squads. The JVA team emerged victorious with a 1-0 win, while the JVB team faced a tough challenge and lost 3-1.

The Elks are now gearing up for another exciting showdown, this time at home, as they prepare to host Beavercreek in a Greater Western Ohio Conference (GWOC) clash on Tuesday. The JVA team will kick off at 5:30 pm, followed by the Varsity team at 7:15 pm. To catch the action live, make sure to secure your tickets in advance. Tickets are available exclusively online at
