Girls Cross Country Team Shines at the Troy Twilight Invite 2023

The Centerville Girls Cross Country team showcased their talent and determination at the highly anticipated Troy Twilight Invite on Saturday evening. With both the JV and varsity races taking place under the setting sun, the team delivered commendable performances that left their mark on the competition.

The evening kicked off with the JV race at 7:45 PM, where the Centerville girls demonstrated their competitive spirit. Leading the charge was the seasoned senior, Allie Czupik, who set the pace for her teammates. The team's collective effort paid off as they secured an impressive 8th place finish out of 21 scoring teams.

Allie Czupik's leadership was complemented by the outstanding performances of her fellow runners, including Kathryn Hall (junior), Madison Leo (sophomore), Lila Yankush (freshman), and Stella Coppock (freshman). These young athletes exhibited dedication and resilience, setting the tone for the evening's excitement.

The main event of the evening, the varsity race, commenced at 9 PM. The varsity lineup featured Mia Fry (junior), Ella Buckingham (freshman), Meredith Drylie (junior), Caroline Haines (freshman), and Claire Drylie (junior), a formidable group ready to take on the competition.

The Centerville varsity team did not disappoint, displaying exceptional teamwork and individual prowess. They navigated the challenging course with precision, showcasing their dedication to the sport. When the dust settled, the team achieved a remarkable 2nd place overall finish out of 32 scoring teams, a testament to their hard work and commitment to excellence.
