The Girls Varsity Soccer team secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Northmont at home Wednesday night. The game took place on a special occasion, Staff Appreciation Night, where the Lady Elks were able to clinch a crucial win. Taylor Koch's goal, combined with Megan Reichard's performance in the net, ensured that Centerville came out on top in a contest where they had to battle through adversity.

While the Lady Elks may not have been at the peak of their performance on this particular night, they were able to bring home the win. The game's defining moment arrived just over nine minutes into the first half when Taylor Koch capitalized on an opportunity to score the lone goal of the match.

Megan Reichard and her defense in front of her made sure that the lone goal would stand up to get the win as the Thunderbolts were not able to muster really any scoring threats.

Soccer, like any sport, has its ups and downs, and even the most talented teams can struggle to find their rhythm on occasion. However, the ability to secure a victory, even when the performance is not at its best, is a mark of a great team. The Lady Elks demonstrated their grit and determination in grinding out this win.

With this hard-earned victory, the Lady Elks' varsity team improved their season record to 7-3-1. Their flawless 4-0 record in the Greater Western Ohio Conference (GWOC) keeps them neck-and-neck with the unbeaten Springboro team, setting the stage for an exciting race to the top of the conference standings.

The JVA team also had a fantastic evening, beating Northmont 8-0 at home. This impressive victory underscores the depth of talent within the Centerville Girls Soccer program and bodes well for the future of the varsity team.

The Lady Elks aren't slowing down. They will be back in action on Wednesday, September 27th, at Fairmont. The JVA team is set to kick off at 5:30 pm, followed by the varsity match at 7:15 pm. Soccer enthusiasts can secure their tickets online in advance at
