Varsity Gold Tennis Continues Incredible Season

The Centerville Varsity Gold Tennis team continued their extraordinary season this past weekend. The Lady Elks, as they are affectionately known, embarked on a weekend journey that saw them secure victory after victory.

On Friday, the team set off for Lexington High School in Ohio, ready to take on the Minuteman. They met the challenge head-on and emerged victorious, defeating Lexington High School with a perfect score of 5-0. This remarkable triumph propelled the team's dual record to an impressive 17-0 for the season..

Saturday brought even more excitement as the Centerville Varsity Gold Tennis team participated in the prestigious Lexington Invitational. This event, renowned for its competitive spirit and high-level play, was a true test of their abilities. Once again, the Lady Elks rose to the occasion.

In the singles category, Clara Owen proved her mettle by securing the 1st place spot. Her relentless determination and remarkable finesse on the court were a sight to behold, earning her well-deserved accolades.

The doubles events were equally thrilling, with Centerville's top pair, Eva Siler and Sasha Riley, claiming 3rd place at 1st Doubles. Their dynamic partnership and seamless coordination exemplified the essence of doubles tennis at its finest.

Not to be outdone, Eve Alappatt and Elise Hedrick made a formidable duo at 2nd Doubles, earning the top spot in their category. Their impressive teamwork and strategic play were crucial in securing another victory for the Lady Elks.

Completing the trio of doubles victories, Hazel Rindler and Reese Davis triumphed at 3rd Doubles, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to excellence and teamwork.

But the success of the Centerville Varsity Gold Tennis team was not confined to the varsity squad alone. The Varsity Black team took part in the Chaminade Julienne Doubles Tournament on Saturday and finished an admirable 2nd place.

The JV team also shone brightly as they competed in the Lady Elk Invitational on the same day and brought home the Championship. Their victory underscored the depth of talent within the Centerville tennis program, showcasing the bright future that lies ahead.

What a weekend it was for Lady Elk Tennis, and there's no doubt that more triumphs are on the horizon for this remarkable team.
