In the waning moments of the first half, with just 1 minute and 39 seconds left on the clock, that the deadlock was finally broken. Peter Evans, demonstrating his vision and precision, connected with Jonah Beny on a remarkable pass. Beny seized the opportunity and placed the ball neatly into the back of the net, giving the Elks a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
