The Boys Varsity Gold Golf Team finished 3rd at the Greater Western Ohio Conference (GWOC) Golf Championship, held at Heatherwoode Golf Course in Springboro, OH, on Wednesday. Despite facing stiff competition, the Elks fought hard and secured a commendable third-place finish.

This year, the Elks found themselves in a fierce contest against some of the best teams in the conference, including Champion Springboro and 2nd place Beavercreek. While the Centerville Boys Varsity Gold Golf Team might not have been at their absolute best, the team managed to shoot a collective 316.

Two standout performers for the Elks were Rohan Reddy and Zach Kester. Rohan Reddy led the team with an impressive score of 76, while Zach Kester closely followed with a score of 77. Both Rohan and Zach's outstanding performances earned them the prestigious distinction of making the first team all-GWOC.

The team's success wasn't solely reliant on individual brilliance, as several other Elks played crucial roles in securing their third-place finish. Barrett LeMaster contributed with an 81, Elliott Durbin with an 82, Zach Hartley with an 83, and Caleb Whitt with an 85. These collective efforts showcased the team's depth and versatility.

In addition to Rohan and Zach's first-team honors, the Elks also saw three more of their players recognized for their exceptional performance. Barrett LeMaster, Elliott Durbin, and Zach Hartley were all named to the second team all-GWOC, adding to the team's list of achievements.

With their heads held high and their spirits undaunted, the Centerville Boys Varsity Gold Golf Team now turns its attention to the upcoming Southwest District Sectional tournament. Scheduled for Monday, October 2nd, at Yankee Trace Golf Course at 8:30 AM, this tournament presents another opportunity for the Elks to showcase their skills on the course.
