The Varsity boys gold golf team played at Heatherwoode on Wednesday with the top 3 teams and top 3 individuals not part of the qualifying team all making it to the State Championship next week. The boys gave it their all but did not qualify as a team or any individuals. The Elks finished 7th out of 16 teams at the OHSAA District championship with a score of 317. Leading the Elks were senior Zach Hartley 73, senior Elliott Durbin 81, sophomore Rohan Reddy 81, senior Zach Kester 82 and sophomore Caleb Whitt 83. The boys improved throughout the year but this offseason is going to require an enormous amount of work and dedication by the underclassmen to get this program back to the point of consistently qualifying for the State Championship. These seniors have laid the groundwork and now the underclassmen have to take that beginning and get to work.
