The varsity girls cross country team traveled to Northmont on Saturday and the team absolutely ran their best team race of the year. The Lady Elks won the GWOC Championship by 13 points over Beavercreek and junior Mia Fry won the race with a time of 18:58. Mia ran a strong race and provided the leadership for the team to get them to the Championship. Her teammates were more than ready for the challenge and they followed Mia across the line in incredible fashion. Freshmen Carline Haines was 8th with a time of 20:19, Freshmen Ella Buckingham was 9th with a time of 20:22, freshmen Shayda Hart was 12th with a time of 20:29, junior Meredith Drylie was 13th also with a time of 20:29, sophomore Chloe was 21st with a time of 21:20 and junior Claire Drylie was 22nd with a time of 21:23. You are reading this correctly, none of the top 7 runners are seniors. The JV team finished 2nd in their race. To see all the results from the GWOC Championship please click this link
