The varsity boys Cross Country Team won the District Championship on Saturday at Cedarville University. The team was led by Daniel Emmert (JR) who finished 9th overall with a time of 15:57. All of our boys had great races races with Lucas Melzer (SR) coming in 11th overall with a time of 16:04, followed closely by Eric Bucher (SR) who finished 12th overall with a time of 16:05. Drake Yarnell (SR) was next for the Elks finishing 20th overall with a time of 16:31 in his first race of the season! Mitchell Job (JR) was next finishing 33rd overall with a time of 16:48 followed closely by Jagger Noel (JR) who finished 37th overall with a time of 16:56. The final Elk runner was Chase Chapman (SR) who finished 49th overall with a time of 17:07. Outstanding job by all of our runners and coaches. Continue to focus on the team and ignore all of the noise and selfishness from the outside. You have all worked so hard and next week is your payday! The team will now move on to the OHSAA Regional Meet next Saturday at Troy High School. The boys will race at 2:45 pm. Tickets are available online at www.ohsaa.org/tickets for $12 adults, $9 students. If you choose to pay cash at the gate the cost will be $15 for all ages 5 and up.
