Girls Cross Country Barely Misses State Bid, Mia Fry Qualifies For State As Individual

The varsity girls cross country team ran in the Regional Meet on Saturday with the top 5 teams qualifying for the OHSAA Meet next weekend. The Elks gave it their all but the young Elks came up short finishing 6th and not qualifying for the State Meet. Junior Mai Fry led the Elks finishing 12th and qualifying for the State Meet Individually with a time of 18:42. Also running for the Elks were junior Meredith Drylie who finished 35th with a time of 19:43. Freshmen Ella Buckingham finished 48th with a time of 20:05. Freshmen Caroline Haines finished 63rd with a time of 20:20. Freshmen Shayda Hart finished 68th with a time of 20:28. Junior Claire Drylie finished 75th with a time of 20:41 and sophomore Cloe Sorensen finished 115th with a time of 21:41. With all 7 runner back next year the future is bright. Great job girls!
