Centerville Boys Varsity Basketball Dominates Beavercreek in GWOC Showdown

The Centerville Elks Boys Varsity Basketball Team showcased their defensive prowess and offensive firepower as they secured a resounding 84-50 victory over the Beavercreek Beavers in a thrilling Greater Western Ohio Conference (GWOC) contest. The win marks the Elks' second consecutive triumph to kick off the new year, and they are now 2-0 both in the season and the GWOC.

From the tip-off, the Elks established their dominance, surging to a commanding 24-10 lead after the first quarter. The first-half spectacle saw the Elks extend their lead to 49-22, with standout performances from Jonathan Powell, who amassed 16 points, and Boboucarr Njie, contributing 15 points. Heading into halftime, the Elks were in control and poised for success.

The second half saw the Elks maintain their momentum, ultimately sealing the game with an 84-50 triumph. Jonathan Powell continued his stellar performance, finishing with an impressive 24 points. Boboucarr Njie added 17 points, while Eli Greenberg and Cohen Ellis each contributed 10 points. This well-rounded effort showcased the depth and talent of the Centerville squad.

The Elks' victory is a significant step towards their goal of securing a sixth consecutive GWOC title. The team's commitment to relentless defense and cohesive teamwork has been a hallmark of their success, and they are well on their way to maintaining their status as conference powerhouses.
