Girls Basketball Drops First Game Of The Year At Fairmont

Centerville High School's Lady Elks varsity basketball team faced a formidable challenge on Wednesday night as they traveled to Fairmont, resulting in their first loss of the season with a final score of 42-32. Despite the setback, the Lady Elks exhibited resilience and skill on the court.

Emily Grim and Caroline McDowell emerged as standout performers for the Elks, with Grim contributing 11 points and McDowell leading the team with an impressive 12 points. Their tenacity and scoring prowess demonstrated the team's competitive spirit even in the face of adversity.

The Lady Elks are now 4-1 on the season, remain a force to be reckoned with in the league. In the junior varsity (JV) matchup the Lady Elks lost 32-23. The freshmen team beat Fairmont 29-24.

The Lady Elks will look to regroup on Saturday as the Lady Elks host Springboro. 9th will play at 12 pm, JV will play at 1:15 pm and Varsity will play at 2:30 pm. Tickets are available online at
