The Elk Varsity Basketball team faced off against the La Lumiere Lakers in an intense match on Friday night in Indiana. Despite their best efforts, the Elks ultimately fell to the Lakers with a final score of 74-54. Let's break down the game to see how it all unfolded.

The first quarter saw a tight battle between the two teams, with the Elks trailing by only one point, 18-17. They continued to keep pace in the second quarter, heading into halftime with a score of 37-26 in favor of the Lakers.

However, the Elks showed their resilience in the third quarter, outscoring the Lakers 20-17 and narrowing the gap to 54-46 heading into the final quarter. Unfortunately, the Lakers seized control of the game in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Elks 20-8 and securing their victory with a final score of 74-54.

Despite the loss, there were standout performances from some of the Elks players. Jonathan Powell led the team with an impressive 20 points, followed by Eli Greenberg with 13 points.

With this result, the varsity team's overall record stands at 13-6, with a strong conference record of 10-2 in the GWOC.
