The Girls Varsity Basketball team kicked off their tournament journey with an impressive victory over Northmont at Troy High School this past Saturday. In a commanding performance, the girls secured a decisive win with a final score of 60-21, showcasing their strength and skill on the court.

Leading the charge for the Elks was Halley Boeke, who delivered an outstanding performance with 11 points. Leona Ciarlariello and Avery Sarver contributed significantly to the team's success, each adding 9 points to the scoreboard. The Lady Elks demonstrated their prowess from beyond the arc, sinking an impressive total of 10 three-point shots throughout the game.

With this victory, the Centerville Elk Girls Varsity Basketball team improved their season record to 14-9, marking a successful campaign thus far. Buoyed by their recent triumph, the team is now set to face Sidney in the second round of the Southwest District Athletic Board (SWDAB) Sectional Tournament.

The upcoming matchup against Sidney holds special significance for the Lady Elks, as they seek to avenge an earlier season loss to the Yellow Jackets. Fueled by determination and a desire to prove themselves on the court, the Centerville team is prepared to give their all in pursuit of victory.

Basketball enthusiasts and supporters are encouraged to attend the game on Wednesday at 6 pm at Troy High School, as the Lady Elks take on Sidney in what promises to be an exciting and competitive matchup. Tickets for the game are available online at www.ohsaa.org/tickets or at the door with cash.
