The Centerville Elks basketball team celebrated a thrilling victory over Fairmont in the district semi-final playoff game by beating the Firebirds by a final score of 46-32. Despite a slow start, the Elks rallied back in the second half, led by an outstanding performance from Jonathan Powell.

In the first half, the game was intense and tightly contested, with Fairmont holding a narrow lead of 14-12 at halftime. However, the Centerville team didn't lose heart. They regrouped during halftime and emerged for the second half with determination and focus.

Jonathan Powell emerged as the star of the game for Centerville, delivering a remarkable performance that turned the tide in favor of the Elks. Powell scored an impressive 21 points, helping his team gain momentum and control of the game. Eli Greenberg also made significant contributions to Centerville's victory, adding 9 points to the scoreboard.

With this hard-fought victory, the Elks have secured their place in the District Final game against Middletown. The game will be played at the Cintas Center, located at Xavier University next Sunday 3/10. Game time is TBD.
