Our varsity track and field athletes went to Spire Academy to compete at the OATCCC Division I Indoor State Track Meet on Friday, March 1st. It was a successful day for the Elks with notables from the following:
Junior Ann Lehmann, won the Pole Vault in a new school record vault of 12’3”. Here's an article to her interview after her win:
Senior Soso Anosike, had a big PR in the 60m Hurdles at 8.18 (#2 CHS) and placed 5th and also went 6’5 in the High Jump and placed 4th
Freshman Alyssa Grim placed 7th and tied her PR at 5'3" in the High Jump - the only freshman competing in high jump in division I
Girls 4x200m relay team broke the school record again with a time of 1:44.11 and placed 4th from the 2nd heat! This relay consisted on juniors Lauren Jessup-Aiken and Samaria Williams and sophomores Ashlyn Rickert and Erin Wickenheiser
Daniel Emmert set a new school record in the 1600m run (4:20.04) and placed 11th
Boys 4x400m relay placed 9th and became the 2nd all-time record for CHS indoor history with a time of 3:27.40. This relay consisted of junior Charlie Abate, senior Chase Chapman, freshman Simon Young Link, and senior Lucas Melzer.
Boys 4x800m relay placed 10th and ran the 5th fastest time in CHS indoor history with a time of 8:06.36. This relay consisted of seniors Lucas Melzer and Eric Bucher and juniors Jagger Noel and Tyler Swan
Senior Desiree Ebiringa placed 9th in triple jump
Senior Thomas Garcia placed 9th in thee weight throw
