Girls Lacrosse Wins Opener At Fairfield

The Varsity Girls Lacrosse team had an exciting start to their season as they traveled to Fairfield for their season opener on Friday night. The Lady Elks showcased their skills and determination, securing a fantastic victory against Fairfield with a score of 17-10.

Several players stood out during the game, contributing significantly to the team's success. Elise Lenos led the charge with 4 goals and 1 assist, followed by Ella Buckingham with 3 goals and 1 assist. Hannah Eggert also made her mark with 3 goals, while Lucia Christafano added 2 goals and 1 assist to the scoreboard. Goalkeeper Kara Bentley displayed impressive skills with 10 saves, ensuring the team's defense remained strong throughout the match.

While the Varsity team celebrated their triumph, the Junior Varsity (JV) team faced a tough challenge and lost to Fairfield with a score of 11-4. Despite the setback, both teams are ready to bounce back and showcase their talents in their upcoming home games.

Next, the Lady Elk Lacrosse teams will face off against Bellbrook at home on Tuesday, March 19th. The JV team will kick off the action at 5:30 pm, followed by the Varsity team at 7:00 pm at Alumni Stadium. It's also Artemis Center night, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event.
