Girls Varsity Lacrosse Drops Game To Bellbrook In OT

The Girls Varsity Lacrosse team experienced a tough match against the Bellbrook Eagles at home on Tuesday night, ending in a heartbreaking 11-10 loss in overtime. Despite their best efforts, the Lady Elks were unable to secure the win but showed incredible resilience throughout the game.

The game started with the Lady Elks falling behind early, trailing 5-2 by the end of the 1st quarter. However, they fought back fiercely in the 2nd quarter, and by halftime, the score was tied at 7-7, showcasing their determination on the field. In the 3rd quarter, the Lady Elks managed to pull ahead, leading 9-8 as they entered the 4th quarter.

The game remained intense and tightly contested, with both teams giving their all. Ultimately, the game ended in a 10-10 tie, leading to a thrilling Sudden Death overtime period. It was during this period that Bellbrook scored the decisive goal, securing the victory with a final score of 11-10.

Despite the outcome, several players from the Lady Elks stood out with impressive performances. Lucia Christafano led the team with 4 goals and 2 assists, showcasing her skills and contribution to the game. Hannah Eggert also made a significant impact with 3 goals, while Elise Lenos added 2 goals and 1 assist to the team's efforts. Ella Buckingham demonstrated excellent control with 6 Draw Controls and contributed 1 goal to the team's score.

With this game, the varsity team's record for the season stands at 1 win and 1 loss, highlighting their competitive spirit and determination to bounce back stronger. Meanwhile, the JV team secured a victory against Bellbrook with a score of 5-4, showcasing the depth of talent within the Centerville lacrosse program.

The Lady Elks will have the opportunity to redeem themselves as they prepare to face Dublin Scioto at home on Tuesday, March 26th. The JV game is set to start at 5:30 pm, followed by the Varsity game at 7:00 pm. Tickets can be conveniently purchased online at
